Melanie Smith

Melanie started dancing at the age of 2. She grew up spending every waking moment in the studio and has never looked back. She started her teaching career in 2014 and got involved in the competitive world in 2019. Her passion for working with students has continued to flourish with every class she teaches. She joined the Fusion family in 2022, and has quickly made this place her home. Melanie has trained extensively in Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Pointe, Hip Hop, Street Jazz, Broadway jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, and Acro. She has taken various classes and workshops, both in and out of the province, with choreographers from around the world. She has successfully completed the Acrobatic Arts Preschool, Module 1, and Aerial + Back Handspring courses. As well, she has completed her International Dance Teaching Standards Teacher Certification Module 1 & 2. Melanie strives to create an enjoyable and encouraging environment for all students to flourish. She is super excited to share her passion, and can’t wait to meet everyone.
